Writing in the third person, Swedger wishes to convey an air of objectivity for the purpose of describing the monolithic "Edgeland". A departure from his trademark sound, Edgeland marks the initiation of a more melodic stylistic direction. Thick bubbling soundscapes, twinkling glockenspiel patterns and classic grime basses fight for prominence throughout the bulk of the tune, whilst cellos and gull-like glitches pave the mid-section. Though it is not especially reminiscent of the producer's other material - past, present or future - Edgeland serves a vital role in defining a reformed sense of fluidity in relation to Swedger's formerly strict stylistic choices.
